Hurricane Irma

This is a quick post to let you know that Frank and I are currently in the US.

LIB is in a marina on the southeast side of Puerto Rico. Our sailboat has been stripped of canvas and we have so many lines going from her to the dock that she appears to be in a web.

Before we left, I began calling Frank, Charlotte, like the famous spider, because of all his line work.
We have many friends who are in harms way and we are extremely worried for them and their floating homes.

Additionally, because of the amount of travel we had planned when we left two weeks ago, we left our dog, Captain, with a pet sitter. So Captain will be facing this storm in PR without us to comfort her.

The dog sitter has assured me she is prepared and she sent me the evacuation plan if that becomes necessary.  All I can do is trust and pray.

Irma is now a category 5 hurricane; only the fifth hurricane in the Atlantic to have winds over 160 knots (184 mph) since the first one recorded in 1935!

Needless to say we are very worried for friends, our dog and the many boats.

Add to this the limited resources for rescue and recovery in these islands and worry escalates.

Since most of these islands rely on tourism as their main income, the devastation also destroys their income stream.

Please pray for all these people.

And while you are on your knees, please include all those in Texas still reeling from Hurricane Harvey.

We will let you know how Captain and LIB fair after the storm when we know. But I will mostly post on our FB page: Let It Be, Helia 44.
